SUMMARY:Book Week - Senior School Free Dress Day
DESCRIPTION:The theme of the 2026 Book Week is A Symphony of 
 Stories.\n\nEach year since 1945 the Children's Book Council of Australia 
 has brought children and books together across Australia through Children's 
 Book Week®. During this time schools and public libraries spend one 
 glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and 
 illustrators. Classroom teachers\, teacher librarians and public librarians 
 create colourful displays\, develop activities\, run competitions and tell 
 stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading.\n\nOn 
 Thu 27 Aug members of the Senior School community are invited to dress up 
 in the theme\, ’Symphony of Stories\,' with a gold coin donation going 
 towards the Indigenous Literacy Fund. Students should dress to show their 
 personal story\; for example\, their cultural\, family or sporting 
 story.\n\nEveryone is welcome to visit the BRC for a reading sit-in each 
 lunchtime throughout the week. There will be free snacks for those who 
 attend\, raffle tickets will be issued for every visit\, and a prize will 
 be drawn at the end of the week.\n\nPlease direct queries to Jane
