A 60-minute incursion for Year 2 students that links directly to How the World Works by exploring living things, life cycles, and ecosystems, while also introducing ideas for Sharing the Planet about protecting Earth’s resources and biodiversity. Students engage in hands-on, interactive activities such as building a freshwater turtle food web, helping them see how species are connected and the impact of human actions on ecosystems. Experienced educators bring a variety of birds and reptiles to the classroom, allowing students to observe and interact with wildlife while deepening their understanding of the vital roles animals play in nature and how humans can work to protect them.
