Event Description

AROUND THE WORLD – a showcase of Year Seven Music

Dickinson Centre

Time

6:30pm - 7:30pm

Date

Monday, October 27, 2025

The 2025 Year 7 cohort is excited to present a showcase of musical exploration, Around the World.

The boys have been rehearsing very hard this semester and are delighted to share their 2025 musical journey with their family and friends.

The showcase programme will include each pathway (Choral, Strings, Band – Experienced and Emerging) presenting a piece, solo performances from our Year Seven Music Fellows and Music Scholar, and some reflections from selected students related to their journeys through Year Seven Music.

Fly on Black Swan was composed specifically for Scotch College, by Greg Schultz (Music) and Ian Lilly (lyrics). In this concert, the Choral pathway students will perform the world premiere of this composition, taking you on an exploration of what many of us call home; through the landscape, flora, fauna and influential historical figures that have shaped the Western Australia and Perth we live in today.

It is important to note that involvement in this performance is compulsory for all boys in Year Seven, as this is a formal assessment. The performance of this concert culminates in the final assessment for Objectives B, C and D in the Year Seven MYP Music course.

Boys will attend rehearsals during the day on Monday 27th October during school timetable and are required to return in the evening to perform.

Catering and a bar service will be available pre-show and post-show, with the bar opening for pre-show purchases from 5:30pm. The performance is expected to conclude at 7:30pm.

Registration is required.
