Event Description
Middle School Inter-House Swimming Carnival
Perth High Performance Centre, Mt Claremont
Time
9:30am - 2:15pm
Date
Tuesday, February 3, 2026
The event will take place at the Perth High Performance Centre 10 Lane Outdoor Pool located at 100 Stephenson Ave, Mt Claremont, on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, and is sure to be a fantastic day of friendly competition and camaraderie.
Parents are welcome to attend the Carnival. Upon arrival, please proceed to the main entrance of Perth HPC, where you will be required to pay the regulated spectator fee. Also, please note that parents will not be allowed on the pool deck once the event has started.
Students must wear their PE shorts with their House shirt and enclosed shoes to school. In addition, students can wear thongs or slides to, around and from the pool, but these items will need to be packed in a bag.
It is essential for students to bring along the following items: Scotch College bathers, towel, goggles, sunscreen, hat, water and a packed lunch with snacks. Rashies are not compulsory but are a personal preference. For any individual and relay race, students will wear House swimming caps.
For relays and team games, one lane is allocated to each House. However, for individual events, students will swim out of the lane allocated to their House to ensure they swim with students of similar ability. Students had the option to compete up to a maximum of three strokes; students were grouped based on their swimming ability from their trials.
Please note the following:
- • Event times are a guide and are based on the current number of divisions, this will be updated in real time before the carnival if anything changes
- • If your son's name is missing from an event, it is either because he did not complete a swim trial for that stroke, or he opted not to participate in that stroke on that day However, he can still be added to a stroke if required
- • An official programme for the carnival will be available for download on Monday from the https://sport.scotch.wa.edu.au/
Students need to remain in their allocated House Bay until they are instructed to move to the marshalling area for their next race. Students must take responsibility for their medical needs, hydration and sun safety.
Limited food and drinks will be available for purchase at Perth HPC, but we encourage students to bring their food for the day.
We expect all students to stay for the entire day, including presentations, after which students will be dismissed and escorted to the UWA Rugby Club (McGillivray Road) side of the pool for pickup.
Students are encouraged to be collected from Perth HPC at the end of the carnival, however, if you cannot collect your son, transport back to Scotch will be provided.
