This is an excursion for students to participate in a Mock Trial and Courtroom tour organised through the Francis Burt Law Education Programme (FBLEP). The excursion will provide valuable insight into the court structure and the sentencing and charging process.
The groups will participate in the following:
- An empty court activity – court room layout and court personnel; and
- A scripted mock trial - The State of Western Australia v. Jamie BROWN: A fictional character accused of arson resulting from a fire that caused extensive damage to the college that s/he attends.
Groups will be led by a FBLEP Team member. At all times, students should maintain a high standard of courtesy and behaviour in the Old Court House Law Museum, the Supreme Court, District Court and/or Magistrates Court and move in an orderly manner between venues.
