Event Description

Trek & Ski Tour (Year 10 Expedition)

New Zealand

Date & Time

All Day Event, Saturday, September 20, 2025 - , Friday, October 3, 2025

Year 10 students will have the opportunity to experience the wonders of New Zealand, in three components.

The first component is a five-day wilderness trek in the Alps of New Zealand’s Southern Island. Students will hike sections of the Greenstone, Routeburn and Kepler Tracks through glacial valleys and above alpine tree lines, often surrounded by snowcapped mountains. Groups will stay in huts each night. Walking up to eight hours per day, the trek will be demanding both physically and mentally. While the trek is challenging, it is an amazing experience in a stunningly beautiful, wilderness environment. It is truly an experience of a lifetime, and for some even life changing.

The second component is five days of skiing at Cardrona, recognised as the best family ski field in New Zealand and world renowned for its ski parks, where the better skiers/snow boarders will be able to test their skills. All students will undertake a series of lessons to prepare them for the challenging slopes.

The third component is the adventure activity section; two days in Queenstown, which New Zealanders describe as the adventure capital of the world. Students can undertake a range of adventure activities including bungy jumping, jet boating and sky diving.
