Event Description

PSA Inter-School Swimming Carnival

Perth High Performance Centre, Mt Claremont

Time

5:30pm - 9:30pm

Date

Thursday, March 13, 2025

Warm up is at 3pm at the Scotch College pool, with the meet commencing at 5.30pm.

This is the most important event of the swimming calendar. Only one swimmer swims in each division at the PSA Carnival. There are four relays in each age group (two Freestyle and two Medley Relays) and again each swimmer can only swim in one relay. For this reason, the depth of the squad is vital to a successful performance for the school.

Swimmers may wear their inter-school top and tracksuit pants or shorts to school for the day.

Members of the squad may leave school at lunch-time if parental permission has been received by Student Services prior to the day. This is to allow them to go home, rest, rehydrate and eat something healthy before the Carnival. Students will meet back at Scotch College, complete a final warm up and then head to the venue.

School records can be broken at this event. Touchpads are used and the times from this Carnival will be collated and posted on the Swimming Noticeboard. The number of points and individual times attained at the PSA Swimming Carnival contributes to the Under-Age Champion award.

After the Carnival, all students must wear the Scotch interschool top, tracksuit pants and clean sports shoes for the presentations. All swimmers will depart the venue together for a team celebration at a location to be advised, including squad presentations.

Details of the wind-up will be communicated to all swimmers selected for the team.

A programme of events will also be available, with results to be shown after each race.
