FROM LITTLE THINGS BIG THINGS GROW
with Gerard Neesham
Hailing from a famous sporting family, Gerard Neesham OAM is one of the state’s most influential figures in Australian Rules Football, as both a player and coach.
Following a stellar career in football, during which he played a key role in promoting Aboriginal talent, Gerard taught at Clontarf Aboriginal College and coached its football team. Recognising football’s potential to engage students and improve their life prospects, he founded The Clontarf Foundation in 2000.
Now, as CEO and Director, he oversees the Foundation’s 158 Academies across 168 schools in five states and the Northern Territory, supporting over 11,400 participants. Earlier this year, Scotch College and the Clontarf Foundation partnered to establish an Academy at the College, commited to the support and education of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. Hear more about this journey on 25 October.
Old Scotch Collegians, families and friends of the College are invited to join us for our annual Founders’ Day Dinner.
