The AGL Perth Energy Solar Car Challenge provides an opportunity for students to design, build and race model solar cars. 

The process introduces students to a number of engineering concepts including photovoltaic generation, car energy use and losses, efficiency, aerodynamic drag, prototyping using 3D CAD and 3D printing, as well as putting a lot of mathematics to practical use.
