Event Description
Year 10 Academic Assessment Testing
Dickinson Centre
Time
8:30am - 12:30pm
Date
Thursday, March 28, 2024
All Year 10 students will undertake academic testing as part of the College's process implemented to assist in monitoring student progress. The testing will be conducted by Academic Assessment Services. This group run tests in numeracy and literacy in a similar format to NAPLAN in schools throughout Australia. The information will be used to guide us in helping students to decide on the most appropriate courses for Year 11 and 12.
This assessment is not part of the OLNA programme and will involve all students in Year 10. If a student misses this assessment there will be a follow up session for any students who are absent.
On Thursday morning we require students to go straight to the Dickinson Centre at 8.30am taking only the equipment they need for the assessment. Arriving with the right equipment and on time is good practice for future examinations. They must leave mobile phones and computers locked safely in their lockers before entering the Dickinson Centre.
The sessions run from 8.30am to 10.45am and from 11.10am to 12.30pm. As this is the last day of term and there are no classes running in the Senior School, students are free to go home after the testing has been completed.
The canteen will be open 10.45am to 11am for recess.
Students need to bring;
- A black or blue pen
- A scientific calculator (the calculator they used in Year 9)
- and may take a water bottle.
All other equipment will be provided.
