Event Description

Valedictory Chapel Service, Dinner & Lights Out

Dickinson Centre

Time

5:30pm - 10:00pm

Date

Saturday, November 23, 2024

A highlight of each year is the Valedictory Chapel Service and Dinner followed by Lights Out for Year 12 Leavers. This significant event in the lives of the students is one of the events that marks the end of their days at school.

The Dinner will be preceded by a Chapel service on the lawn in front of the Chapel at 5.30pm, for Year 12 Leavers and their parents. The Dinner, organised by the Scotch Parents, will be held in the Dickinson Centre on the evening of Saturday 23 November at 6pm and will conclude with Lights Out on the lawn in front of Collegians’ House, a symbolic finale to the students’ time at the College.

We hope parents will be able to celebrate with their sons, although all students are most welcome to attend even if their parents are unable to join them. Due to limited seating, it is not possible for us to extend the invitation beyond two parents per student. Students and their parents will be seated on long tables in Houses. Parents are asked not to move place settings as arrangements are made for guests with dietary requirements. Please remember to wear your Scotch College name badge.

The cost of tickets is $99 per person. ($297.00 for two parents and their son).

Bookings have now closed.

Please note that payment cannot be charged to school accounts. We would be grateful if you would complete your booking no later than Friday 1 November. If neither you nor your Year 12 Leaver will be attending, please notify Heidi Locke via email Heidi.Locke@scotch.wa.edu.au

Parents may bring alcohol to the function, to be consumed only at the table. It is inappropriate to serve alcohol to students at this event and it is important that parents understand and observe the School’s expectations in this matter. The School will not allow alcohol to be sold at the Dinner. We would ask parents to arrive early for the event and leave any alcohol at their own table (clearly named) in the Dickinson Centre prior to the Chapel Service.

The Chapel Service will commence promptly at 5.30pm and we ask that all parents and students are seated by 5.20pm at the latest.

Students are to be dressed in their winter uniform with their House tie. For many, this evening is their last official school event and, therefore, we expect students to maintain the standards of personal presentation until their formal school commitments are complete.

We look forward to your company for this very special occasion for the Year 12 Leavers of 2024.
