We invite all students entering Year 6, 7 and 8 in 2024 to the Middle School Orientation Day on Monday 27 November.

The Scotch College Orientation Day is a full day programme during which students will have the opportunity to experience and participate in a variety of curricular and co-curricular activities as well as familiarising themselves with the Middle School campus and meeting peers and teaching staff.

• New Year 5 (Year 6 2024) and Year 6 (Year 7 2024) will meet at the Gooch Pavilion between 8:00am and 8:20am. The students will be escotrted to Middle School by Middle School staff.
• Current Year 5 (Year 6 2024) students will be escorted from Junior School by their teachers for Orientation Day in Middle School.
• Current Year 6 (Year 7 2024) will meet in the Middle School Quad and be directed to their group leaders.
• Current Year 7 students (Year 8 2024) will head out on an excursion to Adventure World. 

Student requirements:

New Year 6 (2024) and new Year 7 (2024) students:

• wear school sports uniform with enclosed shoes
• bring a water bottle and a hat
• bring their own morning tea and lunch on the day (please note that the canteen is not open on Orientation Day)

 Current Year 5 (Year 6 2024) and current Year 6 (Year 7 2024) students:

• Scotch PE shorts, House shirt and enclosed shoes
• bring own water bottle and a hat
• bring their own morning tea and lunch on the day (canteen will be open for online orders only)

Current Year 7 (Year 8 2024) students:

• Scotch PE uniform, rashie or a swimming top, school hat, towel, enclosed shoes and a change of clothes (sunscreen will be available).
• Students are required to bring a packed recess and lunch including a large water bottle. No canteen orders will be available.
• Boarders will be provided with a packed lunch.

Parent information

Year 5 (Year 6 2024) and Year 6 (Year 7 2024) parents are are invited to the Dining Hall (building #34) after drop-off for tea/coffee before a welcome address with Mr Brad Gill, Head of Middle School and the Middle School Leadership Team. Current parents, please wear your Scotch College name tags. We will have name tags available for those parents who have not yet received theirs.

Orientation Day parking will be available at #P14, accessible via Fern Street. New Students will be escorted back to the Gooch Pavilion to be collected by parents at 3:30pm

Current Year 5 students will return to the Junior School with their teacher for normal pick up.

Current Year 6 and Year 7 students will be dismissed from Middle School as per usual.
