Event Description
The Year 11 Dance promises to be a wonderful night and a truly memorable occasion for the students and their partners.
For many years, Scotch Parents have been magnificent in creating a wonderful venue for the Year 11 Dance. We are fortunate to have parents who work hard to make this event possible and this year looks to be no exception, with a small group of parents having already commenced preparations.
The 2023 theme is ‘Celestial’. While students are encouraged to bring a partner, those electing to attend alone are always most welcome. The event has been highly successful in recent years due largely to the efforts and behaviour of the students on the night.
To ensure this year’s Dance is as successful as recent years, we will be applying the same high expectations on student conduct.
The Year 11 students will be briefed on the College’s expectations next term. Attending the Dance indicates acceptance of the following terms and conditions:
**Alcohol, tobacco or other drugs are not to be used prior to, brought to or consumed at the event.
**If it is evident that either a student or his partner have been drinking or appear to have consumed drugs before or during the Dance, parents will be contacted and asked to collect both their son and his partner.
**The School has a breathalyser kit available to eliminate the need for judgement on whether students have or have not been drinking.
**All bags are to be checked in at the cloakroom on arrival at the Dickinson Centre and are not to be taken into the main hall.
**Students are not allowed to drive themselves to the function.
**Students are not allowed to leave the function before it ends.
**This is a College function and normal expectations of school behaviour apply.
**The issue of pre-Dance functions is the parents’ responsibility.
**At the end of the night, students should be picked up from any of the Senior School carparks, where staff will be on duty.
**The Year 11 Dance guest letter must be completed and returned by the due date.
The College reserves the right to send a student and his partner home if the expectations noted above are not met.
